The Musical Everyday Life of 19th century Pest-Buda
In the Hungarian capital, on its way towards Embourgeoisement, music was not only an important community-organizing element at concerts or on musical stages, but also, as a community-forming force, it became a means of self-representation of the different social classes in many further locations of musical publicity, such as in coffee houses and open-air concerts.
